Guidelines For Treatment Success

A successful outcome begins with appropriate patient and wound selection. Based on Medicare guidelines, the following characteristics define a viable chronic wound prepared for advanced graft treatment.
Wound History

The wound must be chronic (at least 30 days old) and have failed to respond to prior conservative treatments.
Wound Condition

It must be a full-thickness, infection-free wound without any exposed tendon, capsule, or bone.
Wound Viability

The wound must be a minimum of 1 cm² and have adequate circulation to support healing.
